Out With the OLD in With The NEW!

wow, 2009 is coming to an end in less than 5 hours. and i'm excited, happy, and any other synonym that goes with those two. life as i know it will be taking off in 2010! i will be graduating from high school, be 18 & legal, and starting my life! this year had some craaazy times and moments. but i'm grateful and appreciative for ALL of them. and i think that i grew a lot as a person in general in 09. as everyday went by i'm was happy with myself, and grew to be a tougher person and i was uuber tough to begin with. lol, i'm not looking to change in this next year but to always take steps to become a better me. stay tuned because thing in my life are about to go from 0-100 in no time. and for the last time this year. . . peace in the Middle East!

okay so i've been searchin for this website for this website for a little while now! i think i first heard of Fli Pelican maybe from Jeyy. i know for a fact that i was watching Teyana Taylor on ustream talking about her business endeavors and she said she was designing for them so i HAD to check it out. i really like their stuff for a couple of reasons. they aren't SUPER expensive, and they don't stock their clothing. . they are made when they are ordered. that means that they make the piece of clothing specifically for you which is DOPE! i also like how the modeling of the clothing is set up. to experience the overall dopeness click here.

Everybody in downtown NYC is cool.Like by watching the US placers Video, i found Vashtie because she directed it. & since then i've been introduced to a side of NYC fashion, & lifestyle not seen in movies. So our senior dance theme is Tokyo Nights..

So, the theme is Tokyo Nights, and the colors are black & neon colors. Im really excited for this dance & not necessarily the dance itself, but to have a reason to dress up. Like downtown Tokyo fashion is so siick. I DONT think the people at my school are ready for what I plan on dropping.

*So she's not japanese, but I really like the gold makeup she has going across her face, I could make it work.! Like make-up can actually look good if you get the right kind. Not that dry powdery eye shadow that gets done so often. & BTW this is Natasha Khan from the group Bat For Lashes.Then my bestie Melissa & I plan on having Geisha lips. like Gaga did in in the Paparazzi video:

& I havent even began to think about what im wearing. But its cool cause the dance isnt until like mid/late January i think. Im kinda excited to see how this will progress though.

I didnt know this had a video, I may be late.. but its really cool, it makes me wish Lupe was in the movie now.! The performance takes me back to the free concert this summer on the riverfront. Lupe is just a awesome performer, like he's REALLY there to entertain. I cant wait until he comes back, that was the most fun I had all summer. Smile of The Day!

okay, so at school today i got told the nicest thing i've been told maybe ever. i was in my play production class and my teacher who doubles as my stage movement (dance) teacher randomly made my day. her and one of my friends in that class says as i'm walking by "we think that you should go on So You Think You Can Dance." i'm not sure how much that they know how much that meant to me. . i have an unconditional love for dancing, and them saying that unprovoked meant a LOT! and that has been my plan too, as soon as i turn the big 18 i am going to audition. that would be a dream come true basically to make it onto the show. . anyway i wanted to share that with y'all because it honestly made my entire day. thank you Chel Bell, and Haganator! p.s. Haganator said that i reminded her of Russell because of the smile! lol, that's cool with me because that's who i want to win anyway!

the first time i seen these sneakers was on Kanye blog. i thought that they were interesting but wondered what they would look like on someone. Pharrell gave me this chance, and i must say that these are TRULY fresh! my particular favorites would have to be the black freddy flats. and i think another reason i like the whole look is because he went simple. some cuffed blue jeans and a white vee neck was a really cool way to look good, and focus attention on the shoes. on a side note this is the first time i have seen him since the tattoo surgery. no more flames, but same ol Pharrell. and on another side note is that if you like these enough to wanna go get em you might wanna crack a COUPLE of piggy banks because these bad boys are $1,200 bucks!

first and foremost i have been and still am a supporter of the homeboy Chris Brown. the situation is old to me, and both of them are continuing in their lives and the topic should die! . . this song is VERY interesting to me, i didn't know what to expect when it first came on but something about the beat, lyrics, and melody attracted me. i get happy when i listen to this song, and i must say that Esther Dean did her thing and they got a LOT of musical chemistry together. i read that this isn't on the official track-listing of his album "Graffiti". even with that said to know that songs like this and "Crawl" are even being recorded makes me uuber hopeful for his new album. so to sum this post up, go get (legally) the homey Chris Breezy album coming out on Dec. 8.

Pushing Perfection

i haven't been able to get tired of watching this. this particular routine was made by former So You Think You Can Dance contestant Travis Wall. to me it doesn't look like a dance, it looks like a movie. i loved the story behind the movement and everything. it was set up as if you were to run into someone you used to love and fighting those feelings, and ultimately being able to walk away. and the song is really nice too by Stars- Your Ex Lover's Dead.

okay, lets take it back to the year 2006 for a while. this song was released the day after my birthday on May 16th. the video comes on while i was watching MTV Jams, and i started to wonder who is Cassie because i've never heard of her until then. so as the video went on i see a slim built girl stretching and dancing around, but to top it off she is REALLY cute. as the video ended and i wanted nothing more but for it to come on again so i could see her. and it's basically been that way since then, lol. she has just gotten more and more attractive. even with a shaved head she makes it work for her and started a trend out of it. let me run down all the things that i like about this young lady.

So maybe this guy has about 14-15 years on me, but i love him!♥. His style is amazing, his voice is amazing, & he's the perfect size for me, we would compliment eachother .! loll. my favorite song is of course Addiction. Its just a really good song. A nice beat, i can fall asleep to it on repeat, or just vibe to it in the day time. Ive been sleepin on him. & not in the good way. (LOL) I dont listen to his music & its a shame. These just might be my new favorite things to wear. I have these in forest green, and i have them in a deep fuchsia.They look really cool, and stop the need for pants, thats always a plus.! lol.

I never was a fan of tights.. maybe because i always wore tennis shoes up until recently. I could wear these so many ways, w/ skirts, dresses, my boots. I also want to start buying some with cool patterns. Specifically FLORAL. Like Vashtie has on below;

so i got music in my library ranging from Japanese hip hop to Orchestra -- I pretty much listen to it all. Well recently, I was introduced to The Wombats from reading my guy Dairon's Blog, seasonxone. I really like their music.! Like the song he had on there was called Little Miss Pipedream, which I love. I went on to find a song of theirs called School Uniforms & I love that too. & apparently the genre is Brit Pop, so I feel even cooler because I never listened to brit pop before.! (lol)

& Dairon is cool beyond his music taste. Like, he's going to school for Photojournalism, I always liked the aspect of being a photojournalist, just gettin paid for your great photography & telling the story behind the images, like thats a dope career. lol. & he's tryna go to Columbia too, which is like my dream school, we should so colab wen we get there.!

Harem Pants a.k.a Drop Crotch Pants

alright. . my liking for these style of pants started when i first stumbled upon a pair of Adidas jogging pants that the soccer team at my school would wear. they were baggy in the crotch area and then got tight at the leg. i thought that that was the coolest thing ever. . then i see Cassie in her video for "Official Girl" and she has em on too so in time they come out but just for women. but my luck has changed because now they make them for men. and i GOTTA have em!! i would totally wear it like the guy in the first picture. or even thrown a leather jacket on with some black war boots and a black beanie. i can't wait until i can get my hands on some!

Fresh Kid Under The Radar!

look familiar? well that's because u totally know him. this is the grown up version of "Smart Guy", Tahj Mowry. if ur still scratching ur head he is otherwise known as Tia and Tamera's little brother. aside from being in the acting game he is giving music a try. . but the purpose of this post is to talk about the fashion. he KILLS the game hard. the first outfit in the first picture is so simple and dope. off white shirt, with a necklace and bracelets, brown jeans that lead to a pair of combat boots. on top of his head lies a beanie. this is totally something that i would wear. and close to something i have worn. and the thing that gets me is that he is soooo fresh. but was under the radar to me until recently. from now on i'm on the look-out. lol, peace in the Middle East.
